Request approval of a special event grant funding request for the Hispanic Organization Network of Resources (HONOR) Group Hispanic Heritage Celebration in an amount not to exceed $11,225.

SUMMARY:
The purpose of this item is to request approval of funding for the HONOR Group Hispanic Heritage Cultural Celebration in an amount not to exceed $11,225. This event will take place at Coachman Park on Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 6:00 pm with an expected attendance of approximately 3,000 - 4,000.
This Hispanic Heritage Celebration will showcase cultural experiences with Hispanic music, Latin Food folklore dances, handmade crafts, and products from Latin America.
Based on the Downtown Development Board Funding Policy staff recommends funding this event in an amount not to exceed $11,225, which will cover up to $6,225 in marketing and up to $5,000 in entertainment fees.
The total cost of the Hispanic Heritage Celebration is $60,425. The HONOR Group has submitted its special event application and has applied for the High Impact Event Co-Sponsorship for $20,000.
