Final Public Millage Hearing and adoption of Resolution 21-04

SUMMARY:
In accordance with Chapter 200 of the Florida Statues, which defines the requirements for the “Determination of Millage” and the rules governing “Truth in Millage” (TRIM) compliance; the Downtown Development Board, DDB, must hold two public hearings to adopt a final millage rate for the new fiscal year. The adoption of this resolution to establish the millage rate is an integral part in fulfilling these requirements.
The DDB set a tentative millage rate of 0.9700 mills at the July 14, 2021 meeting, which is the rate that appeared in the TRIM bill notices mailed to taxpayers in August. This millage and resolution were adopted at the first hearing on September 8, 2021.
Resolution 21-04 is presented to adopt the millage rate of 0.9700 mills to support the operating budget for the 2021/2022 fiscal year.
