First Public Millage Hearing and adoption of Resolution 21-04

SUMMARY:
In accordance with Chapter 200 of the Florida Statues, which defines the requirements for the “Determination of Millage” and the rules governing “Truth In Millage” (TRIM) compliance; the Downtown Development Board, DDB, must hold two public hearings to adopt a final millage rate for the new fiscal year. The adoption of this resolution to establish the millage rate is an integral part in fulfilling these requirements.
The DDB set a tentative millage rate of 0.9700 mills at the July 14, 2021 meeting, which is the rate that appeared in the TRIM bill notices mailed to taxpayers in August. Resolution 21-04 is presented to adopt the millage rate of 0.9700 mills to support the operating budget for the 2021/2022 fiscal year.
