SUMMARY:
Cultural Affairs staff and the City’s Neighborhoods Coordinator have cooperated to submit a grant application to the Bloomberg Philanthropies “Asphalt Art Initiative” to fund a mural along N. Martin Luther King Jr. Avenue and at the entrance to Cherry Harris Park. If awarded, the grant would provide $15,000 in funding for the creation of a mural to be created through an artist-led community design process.
The project has been met with enthusiasm from the North Greenwood community and the Clearwater Urban Leadership Coalition, who have agreed to be project partners for the creation of the mural.
