Review an update on the status of the Cultural Arts Strategic Plan.

SUMMARY:
In 2020 the City contracted with Designing Local, Ltd. to facilitate the Cultural Arts Strategic Plan process. Since then, Designing Local has conducted a series of public information sessions and individual feedback interviews with stakeholders that are involved in, and connected to, the arts and culture in Clearwater. On May 27, a public panel was held with the focus on “The Future of Arts and Culture in Clearwater” and had participants from the Clearwater Arts Alliance, Creative Pinellas, Ruth Eckerd Hall, and two practicing artists. Designing Local is now in the process of producing a draft of recommended goals and objectives for the Strategic Plan. When complete, the draft will be circulated first through City leadership and staff, and then with the project steering committee. Comments and edits will be incorporated into the draft with the goal of a complete document presented to Council at the August 16, 2021 Work Session and August 19, 2021 Council Meeting.
