SUMMARY:
As directed by City Council, Planning and Development Department staff have been exploring ways to incentivize higher density/intensity development in the Downtown in accordance with increases recently authorized by Forward Pinellas. As such, staff is seeking direction from City Council on an option to establish a two-tier approach to allocating units and floor area from the existing Public Amenities Incentive Pool to promote redevelopment in the Downtown.
