Authorize surplus disposition of G3669, G3948, and G3950 via auction to the highest bidder, pursuant to Clearwater Code of Ordinances Section 2.622, Surplus Personal Property, and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. (consent)

SUMMARY: 

G3669 2010 Ford Crown Victoria was involved in a traffic crash on June 28, 2019 and subsequently was removed from service on July 8, 2019, based upon damage sustained during this crash. The estimated retail value for this vehicle was $5,164.00.     

 

G3948 2013 Chevrolet Caprice needs extensive engine repairs due to camshaft failure. The estimated repair cost is $3,600.00. This vehicle is almost at the end of life and with an estimated value of $6,125.00 the Police Department has declined to spend the money to repair and has decided to turn the vehicle in for auction.

 

G3950 2013 Chevrolet Caprice needs extensive engine repairs due to camshaft failure. The estimated repair cost is $2,800.00. This vehicle is almost at the end of life and with an estimated value of $6,125.00 the Police Department has declined to spend the money to repair and has decided to turn the vehicle in for auction.

 

City Council authorization for surplus is required in accordance with Code Section 2.622, when the sale of common bulk items is estimated to exceed $5,000.
