SUBJECT/RECOMMENDATION:

Authorize a contract with Consolidated Resource Recovery, Inc., Sarasota, FL, for yard waste debris disposal, in the annual amount of $200,000 for an initial three-year term, with one additional two-year renewal term at the City’s discretion and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. (consent)

SUMMARY:
The Solid Waste Department collects yard waste from our residential customers. This debris is transported by city collection vehicles to the contractor’s State-permitted disposal facilities.
In May 2018 the City of Largo, FL issued Request for Bids (Bid 18-B-641) for Yard Trash, Class III and Construction Demolition Debris Disposal. The City of Clearwater and the City of Dunedin participated in this bid as a cooperative solicitation, with all entities’ requirements represented in the bid. Consolidated Resource Recovery, Inc. was the lowest responsive, responsible bidder to provide the requested services. City Code Section 2.564(1)(d) provides for participation in Cooperative Procurement efforts with other public entities.
