Approve the First Amendment to the Business Lease Contract between the City of Clearwater and Jolley Trolley Transportation of Clearwater, Inc. for the lease of city-owned property located at 410 North Myrtle Avenue and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same.  (consent)

SUMMARY: 

The City and Jolley Trolley Transportation of Clearwater, Inc. (Jolley Trolley) entered into a Business Lease Contract for Jolley Trolley’s use of 410 N Myrtle Avenue on September 17, 2012 (Jolley Trolley Lease).  The Lease was intended to satisfy Jolley Trolley’s need of administration space for Jolley Trolley’s general business practices and parking of trolleys in support of providing transportation between Clearwater Beach and locations throughout Pinellas County.

The Jolley Trolley Lease term was for three years, with two successive renewal option periods of three years each. Jolley Trolley exercised the first renewal option period which ran from October 1, 2015 through September 30, 2018.

The City desires to have flexibility for potential use of this property, hence, it is the City and Jolley Trolley’s wish to amend the final renewal period from three years to one year with two successive renewal option periods of one year each.

This amendment will be subject to all terms and conditions within the existing Jolley Trolley Lease.
