Authorize the award of Invitation to Bid 23-18 to POP Umpires Management, Inc. for baseball umpire scheduling services, in the annual amount of $60,000 for a one-year term, with two annual renewal terms at the City's option and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. (consent)

SUMMARY:
The City solicited responses (RFP #23-18) for the baseball umpiring scheduling services and received one qualified bid from POP Umpires Management, Inc.
POP Umpires Management, Inc. has successfully worked with the City in the past in providing similar services.
The scope of work includes the scheduling and payment of umpires for adult baseball leagues at a rate of $65.00 per umpire per game for a two-person umpire crew. If scheduled and the game is rained out, the show up fee per umpire is $15.50. After a nine-inning game, each umpire will be compensated an additional $4.50 for each extra inning. The assigners scheduling fee will be $3.00 per game.
Staff is projecting that approximately 350 baseball games are played each year.
The costs for these services are paid for by user fees that are charged to the teams. Revenues therefore offset the costs associated with this Contract.
