SUMMARY:
The City has an outstanding loan originally given to Doretha Carson Leverson. Ms. Leverson died on July 22, 2016 and no estate has been opened to dispose of her property or resolve any outstanding debts she may have had. The City has a claim for $36,800.00. If the City opens an estate it will then be able to file a claim against the estate for the moneys owed under the loan.
Authority is being sought to open an estate in order to file a claim against it to recover the moneys owed to the City. Costs will be approximately $500.
