Title
Approve a change order for contract term extension with King Engineering Associates, Inc., for the Solid Waste Transfer Station design and permitting, pursuant to City Code Section 2.561 (8)(c), and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. (consent)

SUMMARY:
On June 3, 2015, the Council approved a work order to King Engineering Associates, Inc., an Engineer of Record with the City of Clearwater, for the design and permitting of a new Solid Waste Transfer Station per Bid 15-0007-SW. A contract (purchase order) was issued with an expiration date of October 31, 2016.
Staff now realizes that the expiration date was too optimistic considering the extent of design and permitting issues encountered, and request changing the expiration date to June 30, 2018.
APPROPRIATION CODE AND AMOUNT:
The funding source for this contract in the amount of $840,472.00 continues to be the capital improvement project 315-96447 Solid Waste Transfer Station Rebuild.
USE OF RESERVE FUNDS:
No reserve funds are required for this contract.
