SUBJECT/RECOMMENDATION:
Title
Approve an increase to Purchase Order (contract) BR511703 in the amount of $100,000 with Coastal Alternative Fuel Systems, for Ford vehicle up-fitting services (CNG conversion); authorize purchase under the City’s Master Lease Purchase Agreement, or internal financing via an interfund loan from the Capital Improvement Fund, whichever is deemed to be in the City’s best interest; and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. SUMMARY:
On June 29, 2016, City Manager Horne approved a blanket purchase order (BR511703) in the amount of $99,500 to Coastal Alternative Fuel Systems, to facilitate the timely scheduling of CNG up-fit/conversion services for nine Ford trucks in the City’s possession. The requested increase will result in a revised purchase order amount of $199,500, and provide for the up-fit/conversion services required for the remaining six additional Ford trucks in the current Fiscal Year 15/16:

At this time Coastal Alternative Fuel Systems is the only Ford Qualified/Certified Vehicle Modifier in the State of Florida. Pursuant to City Code Section 2.564(b) Exceptions to Bid and Quotation Procedure, Coastal Alternative Fuel Systems is a sole source and therefore these services are exempt from bidding.
