SUMMARY:
During the August 4 work session, the City Council discussed the City's policies and practices regarding proclamations. The Council reached consensus to reserve time during each work session for Councilmembers to make comments of their choosing. These comments may relate to upcoming proclamations, or they may relate to other topics. The City Attorney has drafted the attached update for Council's consideration.
Please note that the rules as drafted do not explicitly require proclamation(s) to be attached to the work session agenda. However, this can be done administratively by staff. This practice can also be codified in the formal rules if needed."
