Title
Approve a legal services agreement with Trask Daigneault LLP for the provision of legal services and representation to the City of Clearwater Building and Flood Board of Adjustment and Appeals, Civil Service Board, and Nuisance Abatement Board; and authorize appropriate officials to execute same.

SUMMARY:
Over the past several years, Trask Daigneault LLP (“Trask”) has effectively represented the City of Clearwater Building and Flood Board of Adjustment and Appeals, Civil Service Board, and Nuisance Abatement Board among other boards.
On September 30, 2026, the City of Clearwater’s agreement with Trask expired and the City Attorney’s Office now seeks to enlist the services of Trask again to represent the City of Clearwater Building and Flood Board of Adjustment and Appeals, Civil Service Board, and Nuisance Abatement Board. Trask has agreed to undertake this representation pursuant to the attached legal services agreement for a term of five (5) years. The agreement authorizes the City Attorney to approve legal fee invoices regarding Trask’s services up to a not-to-exceed amount of $75,000.00.
This agreement is exempt from bidding pursuant to Section 2.563(1)(g), Clearwater Code of Ordinances.
APPROPRIATION CODE AND AMOUNT:
Funds are available in cost code 0109600-530100, Professional Services, to fund this contract. The operating budget of the City Attorney’s Office is funded by General Fund revenue.
