Body

SUMMARY:

On December 17, 2025, the City Manager approved a $90,000.00 award to Chemtrade Chemicals US, LLC (“Chemtrade”) following a competitive solicitation process on ITB 09-26, Liquid Aluminum Sulfate based on critical operational need, competitive solicitation results, and fiscal responsibility & efficiency.

Public Utilities is requesting council approve a $36,000.00 increase to Contract No. 902592 with Chemtrade, for a revised not-to-exceed amount of $126,000.00, subject to confirmation of available appropriation and completion of the required purchasing documents. Council approval is required because the revised contract value exceeds $100,000.00. The current average monthly expenditure is $9,666.09. At that rate, the estimated 12-month cost is $115,993.05. Therefore, a revised authorization from council of $126,000.00 would leave an estimated balance of $10,006.95 as a contingency.

Liquid Aluminum Sulfate is used to control and remove phosphorus. Public Utilities has been experiencing the need for higher usage of the chemical, resulting in the need for the increase.
