Title

Approve the Joint Participation Agreement (JPA) G3F99 between the City of Clearwater and the State of Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT), Construction of Corporate Hangars at the Clearwater Airpark, authorize the appropriate officials to execute same, and adopt Resolution 25-10.

SUMMARY: 

On February 15, 2024, Council approved a Public Transportation Grant Agreement with the Florida Department of Transportation for the Design of Corporate Hangars at Clearwater Airpark.

FDOT JPA Agreement G3F99 provides for an 50% grant for the Construction of new corporate hangars, with 50% cash match. The project cost is estimated to be $2,400,000 and will be established through 2 separate Public Transportation Agreements for State Fiscal Year 2026 and 2027. This grant agreement is the first of the two agreements and is for a total of $1,200,000, with a 50% match of $600,000 to the city with FlyUSA to reimburse the city of the cash match portion in accordance with their lease and operating agreement.

 

APPROPRIATION CODE AND AMOUNT:

Funding is available in capital improvement project 302-G2401, Airpark Hangars - New, to cover this grant funded with 50% reimbursement from FDOT and 50% reimbursement from the Airpark operator, FlyUSA.
