Body

SUMMARY:

Pinellas County Solid Waste (PCSW) operates the only waste-to-energy plant and landfill in the county.  All putrescible solid waste collected by the city is taken to this facility.  Effective October 1, 2023, the tipping fee for Pinellas PCSW will be raised to $51.00 per ton up from $47.75 per ton in Fiscal Year 2023.  This represents a rate increase of 6.8%, however, the overall annual projected cost increase for the disposal of solid waste is 4.1%, as staff anticipates the increased usage of the city recycling program will lessen the impact of the PCSW rate increase.
