SUBJECT/RECOMMENDATION:
Title
Final Public Millage Hearing and adoption of Resolution 23-03
Body
SUMMARY:
In accordance with Chapter 200 of the Florida Statutes, which defines the requirements for the “Determination of Millage” and the rules governing “Truth In Millage” TRIM compliance, the Downtown Development Board, DDB, must hold two public hearings to adopt a final millage rate of the new fiscal year.
The DDB set a tentative millage rate of 0.9700 mills at the July 12, 2023, meeting, which is the rate that appeared in the TRIM bill notices mailed to taxpayers in August. Resolution 23-03 was presented at the First Public Meeting on September 5, 2023 to adopt the millage rate of 0.9700 mills to support the operating budget for the 2023/2024 fiscal year.
The levy of 0.9700 mils constitutes a 5.65% percent increase from the rolled back rate of 0.9181.
