Discuss Placemaking City Art Sign in Coachman Park

SUMMARY:
Staff is seeking feedback from the Public Art & Design Board on the concept of installing a decorative metal photo opportunity sign at Coachman Park, similar to the examples attached. These examples were sent to staff by Sharp Metals Studio based out of West Palm Beach.
The proposed sign would serve as a placemaking feature and visitor photo destination while promoting Clearwater's identity and encouraging social media engagement. At this time, staff is requesting conceptual input from the Board regarding the overall style, aesthetic, and messaging of the sign.
Specifically, staff is seeking feedback on:
• Preferred design style
• Preferred wording or branding, such as:
o CLEARWATER
o CLW
o I ❤ CLW
o Other creative concepts that reflect Clearwater's identity.
• Any additional design ideas or features the Board would like staff to consider.
The examples provided are intended to show what is possible. Staff would put a bid for this piece, but not a call to artists.
No formal action is requested at this time. Staff is seeking the Board's input and direction before developing a final design concept for future consideration.
