Body

SUMMARY:

The WWCS Flow Monitoring Services project aims to collect, summarize, and evaluate sanitary sewer flow, rainfall, and groundwater data to identify locations of excessive Inflow and Infiltration (I&I) and recommend further actions. I&I is the result of stormwater and/or groundwater entering the WWCS, increasing sanitary sewer transmission and treatment costs, in addition to potentially causing sanitary sewer overflows.

Wright-Pierce is performing well, and the city wishes to continue the flow monitoring efforts. Supplemental Work Order 1 adds an additional year to the current contract. The Agreement with Wright-Pierce was approved by Council on September 5, 2019. RFQ 23-19 allows for the project to be extended after the initial three-year term.

The City of Clearwater’s Public Utilities Department is responsible for owning, operating, and maintaining the Wastewater Collection System.
