SUMMARY:
On July 16, 2026, there was council consensus for outside counsel to negotiate an employment agreement with Owen Kohler as the City Attorney. Staff is currently working with outside counsel. Since Mr. Kohler’s appointment as Interim City Attorney expires on August 7, 2026, staff requests Council to extend his appointment as Interim City Attorney through October 1, 2026.
