Approve a Purchase Order to Consulting Engineering, Inc. of Kalispell, MT for acoustic leak detection in the amount of $200,000.00 pursuant to ITB 05-23, Acoustic Leak Detection, and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. (consent)

SUMMARY:  

Invitation to Bid (ITB) #05-23, Acoustic Leak Detection, was issued on August 3, 2023.  Three bids were received on September 1, 2023, with Consulting Engineering, Inc. as the lowest most responsible bidder, in accordance with the bid specifications.  The work includes detecting and locating leaks in the City of Clearwater’s potable and reclaimed water (RCW) transmission and distribution systems. The leaks found would be repaired by in-house or contractual means.

 

Engineer of record, CHA Consulting, Inc. evaluated the bids and recommends awarding the contract to Consulting Engineering, Inc.

 

The project is anticipated to be completed within 365 calendar days from issuance of Notice to Proceed. This is a one year contract with three, one-year renewal options.   

 

The City of Clearwater Public Utilities Department is responsible for owning, operating, and maintaining the potable water and reclaimed water systems.
