Approve a second amendment to the Grant Funding Agreement for Florida Best Promotions for Salsa at the District: Oktoberfest and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same.

SUMMARY:
At the March 20, 2024, Downtown Development Board meeting, the board approved a special event grant funding request for Salsa at the District: Oktoberfest that would take place Saturday, October 12, 2024, on the 500-600 blocks of Cleveland Street and Station Square Park.
On May 13, 2024, the board approved the first amendment to the grant agreement for Salsa at the District: Oktoberfest grant funding amount from $195,000 to $35,000.
On Monday, October 7, 2024, staff received notification from event producers that due to Hurricane Milton they needed to postpone the Salsa at the District: Oktoberfest event. Event producers have been working with Clearwater special events staff to reschedule the event for Saturday, November 23, 2024 at Coachman Park.
The City’s Rumba en Clearwater has also been rescheduled and will take place on Sunday, November 24, 2024, also in Coachman Park. By these two events having the same footprint it will help to cut down on stage, production, and other costs for both events.
Staff recommends continuing with the same grant funding, in an amount not to exceed $35,000 for Salsa at the District: Oktoberfest on November 23, 2024.
