Discuss when the farewell to councilmembers shall be held.

SUMMARY:
In 2024, the farewell and oath of office occurred at the work session. The outgoing councilmembers started the meeting and said their farewell, while the new councilmembers sat in the audience. Council took a recess after the oath was administered.
In 2022, the farewell occurred at former councilmembers’ last council meeting and the oath was administered at the new councilmember’s first meeting. The new councilmembers began the meeting from the dais.
Per the city charter, the oath with be administered to the newly elected councilmembers on November 16, 2026.
Please advise if the farewell shall be held on the November 16, 2026 work session or the November 19, 2026 council meeting.
