Body
SUMMARY:
On April 9, 2025, vehicle G4858, a 2020 Ford F-550 CCTV truck used for sewer line inspections, suffered water intrusion due to previous roof damage that was not successfully repaired, flooding the control room and damaging the onboard electronics. The vehicle was appraised and deemed to be a total loss.
On February 19, 2026, City Council declared vehicle G4858 surplus, to be disposed by auction or trade-in, and approved the purchase of a replacement vehicle from Cues, Inc. for $514,399.74. Vehicle G4858 was sold at auction for $117,322.85, net of fees.
The payment from the Central Insurance Fund is calculated as the vehicle’s Actual Cash Value (ACV) of $247,852.26 per the appraisal, less the auction proceeds of $117,322.85. This payment will be used to offset the cost and reduce the internal financing required to fund the replacement vehicle.
