Discuss Fire Station 47 Mural Collaboration with Clearwater High School

Body

SUMMARY:

The Fire Department expressed interest in involving Clearwater High School students in displaying artwork at Fire Station 47, located at 601 S. Hercules Ave., directly across from the school. Arts and Culture connected with the school’s principal, who asked one of their art teachers, Ms. Hoffman to be involved. She will select three of her most promising students to create a triptych piece for the station. The students will paint on wood panels, which will be framed and displayed outside on the station for one year, with plans to rotate the exhibit annually. This initiative offers local students a chance to contribute to Clearwater’s public art scene. Depending on how the first year goes, a more permanent art installation may be considered in the future.
