Discuss Live Painting at Clearwater Celebrates America 250 Event

Body

SUMMARY:

Parks & Recreation Special Events staff asked the Arts & Cultural Affairs Division to explore opportunities to incorporate a visual arts component into the Clearwater Celebrates America 250 event. Staff recommended a live painting demonstration as an engaging way to showcase local artistic talent while providing visitors with a unique, interactive experience.

Following a recent Call to Artists, Isaac Gres was selected to participate based on his exceptional hyper-realistic painting style, strong evaluation scores from the artist selection panel, and his availability to paint live during both event dates, July 3 and July 4.

The finished painting will be donated to the Clearwater Arts Alliance. The Alliance intends to auction the piece through its online platform or as part of its annual fundraising event, with proceeds supporting future public art and arts programming within the community.
