SUMMARY:
The Clearwater City Charter requires a charter review committee be appointed at least every five years, with appointments made in January of a year preceding an election. The charter requires there be at least 10 members, all of whom must be Clearwater residents. The committee typically meets once to twice a month from January to November, reviews every provision of the charter, and focuses on areas identified by staff or Council. Committee appointments will be made in January.
At the time of appointment, council provides direction to the committee regarding items council would like to consider.
