Discuss New City Hall Stairwell and The Baycare Sound Murals

SUMMARY:
Staff utilized the pool of artists and highest-scoring applicants from the most recent open call. The top list of artists was shared with Parks & Recreation staff, as well as marketing representatives from BayCare and Ruth Eckerd Hall. From this list, five artists were selected to develop proposals for two projects: the BayCare Sound wall (rear façade) and the new City Hall stairwell murals.
Proposals are currently pending. Once received, the board will be notified and asked to provide input via email to help guide final artist selection. City Hall is scheduled to open sometime in October, so staff intends to move forward with selected artists for both projects as quickly as possible following feedback.
An official board vote will be required at the next meeting on July 9.
