Approve the First Amendment to the agreement between the City of Clearwater and the Clearwater Ferry Services, Inc. (FERRY) extending the Time of Performance for the reimbursement through July 4, 2016 at no additional cost to the City and authorize the appropriate officials to execute same. (consent)

SUMMARY:
March 3, 2016, Council approved an agreement to reimburse the FERRY at $1.00 per one-way ticket during the hours of 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. for a period from March 1, 2016 through April 30, 2016. Due to the success of the program, it is desired to extend the Time of Performance through July 4, 2016 at no additional cost to the City.
During the period March 1, 2016 through April 3, 2016, the number of 8 am to 10 pm trips on the FERRY has increased from less than one thousand to more than three thousand per week. At this rate of usage, the time period of the agreement can be extended through July 4, 2016 without the need to add any additional funds.
