Approve a Special Event Grant Funding Request from Tampa Bay Ukulele Society in an amount not to exceed $20,375 for the Ukulele Festival and authorize appropriate officials to execute same.

SUMMARY:
The purpose of this item is to request approval of funding for the Ukulele Festival in the District in an amount not to exceed $20,375. This annual event will take place on the 400-500 blocks of Cleveland Street and potentially extend into Coachman Park, on Saturday, April 12, 2025, form 12:00pm to 9:00pm. There is an expected attendance of approximately 4000.
This one-day event will consist of free lessons throughout the afternoon, entertainment along the 400 and 500 blocks of Cleveland Street. There will be vendors along the 500 block of Cleveland Street. Tampa Bay Ukulele Society is partnering with merchants along Cleveland Street to allow of workshops to be conducted.
Tampa Bay Ukulele Society estimates a total project cost of $42,500 and is requesting a total of $25,000 from the DDB. After review of the application staff recommends an amount not to exceed $20,375. This grant will cover costs associated with entertainment, marketing, and city fees.
